About me

Cesar

Let's face it, I'm young, I'm one person, and I'm not here to bore you with MBS. That's why there is no "we" on this site, and why I don't pretend to be something I'm not. That also means that the buck stops with me, and I take full responsibility for all my work and actions.

I'm here to have fun, to do exciting and fulfilling work, and to do it well. I run my own business because it's more in tune with my values and life goals, because I like a good challenge, because I appreciate the flexibility, and because I like to be personally responsible for my future.

Why Kokua Design?

It's a shoutout to the laid-back, happy, and friendly spirit of the Hawaiian islands. No, I'm not Hawaiian, but I spent three great years there after college and loved every minute of it. Kokua is the Hawaiian word for help, which is what I'm here to do.

A little more about me...

My name is Cesar Gonzalez and I was born in Lima, Peru in April of 1980. I spent the next 18 years of my life in Argentina, Colombia, Libya, England, France, and the US of A. I attended the California Institute of Technology and earned a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which I followed up with a fellowship in Entrepreneurship. I spent the next three years in Hawaii, enjoying my early 20s and working as a Research Engineer at a bio-medical technology company. Then, in February of 2006, I quit my job and moved back to Los Angeles to be with my girlfriend and to start kokuadesign.com.
